Wow, what a wonderful and busy time it has been! Got to go to Chicago and San Francisco with the family and visit the grandson ... awesome! Taught a Zumba class in California with the amazing Oscar Solano, Jr.!

Came back and have been dancing my socks off! This past Wednesday, since the JCC was closed for holiday, we danced outside at Coastal Community Church. Gnats are evil, but Zumba is worth it.

Today, I'm heading back to that same spot to watch the Charleston Egg Drop!

Next week, bringing a new samba ... slower one, but fun.

I am so excited about our new class at the gym at the Jewish Community Center on Wednesdays at 5:30!

We have lots of fun and there's no membership required. Just bring $5 cash, sign a waiver and we'll start dancing. I have even collected some door prizes and will award them each night. So far, I have given out free classes at Holy Cow Yoga, Free hair treatment at Le Salon, gift bags from Lululemon Athletica and free classes with me at the JCC!

This is a great way to add a Zumba class in your week and bring folks with you!

We are in a gym, so it's big and there's plenty of room to get your groove on. We are working on getting a stage so you can see me better (I am a little bit vertically challenged).

Oh, and I have just a few very limited edition t-shirts for sale ($10) and once they are gone, I don't know if or when I can get more. The "good/louder/better quality" hip scarves have just come in and will be $15.

So glad to finally be back dancing with mi LoCos at the Lowcountry Senior Center!

I'm also happy to be teaching at Kiawah at the Sandcastle once a week now, too.

For the next 12 weeks, we will have to make sure we're done by 12:55 at MUSC because the Physical Therapy students have the room at 1:00. So happy for Tracy Masters Ray, who became an instructor in December. Looking forward to having Vondina Moseley join those ranks next month! That gives MUSC James Johnson, Sylvia Vaena and me as regular Zumba instructors, so far. But I see some bright stars shining on the horizon ...

St. Andrews has added new Zumba classes and now has at least one Zumba class every day, except on Sunday! So happy for our newest instructors, Keywi Terry, Mary Rakes, Kim Greiner and Judy Clune who were licensed in December. Let's see, St. Andrews has Katie Williams, who brought this Zumba to us all; Diane Betz, the Fitness Director/Zumba instructor; Jody Ruff, Mary Rakes and me teaching regular classes regularly; and Vikki Scruggs is on the sub-list.

Now, if I could recruit some of my LoCos to get their license ... (sneaky smile).

There is a workshop that still had openings as of yesterday on February 27th here at MUSC!

I highly recommend this wonderful occupation.

AQUA ZUMBA is coming to Charleston! Mondays at 6:00 PM at St. Andrews Family Fitness.

Beginning September 13th, 2010, the most amazing and fun workout will be taught by yours truly. Gotta tell ya, it's the most fun class I have ever taken in my LIFE! All the heat, none of the sweat.

Free for members; $10 for a day pass (which, by the way, entitles you to go to all the classes that day!)

Maria Graham will teach the PiYo and Zumba Fitness classes on 7/30 and 8/6, respectively.

Aqua Zumba is so much fun! I'm licensed to teach now, but have to learn a lot of choreography and strengthen my sense of balance before it actually look to teach it.

I've been a little "busy" lately. I did get my PiYo Certification (THAT was tough) and next weekend I'm going to go for the Aqua Zumba Certification!

Still teaching at MUSC on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon
and at Lowcountry Senior Center on Thursday @5:45 and Saturday @9:00 AM.

Last weekend, Jody Ruff taught the Saturday class. She was blown away by the wonderful, talented members! I'm very proud of that very magical class. It was hard not to be there.
I'll be teaching on Saturday, even though I'm doing the certification ... it's not until Sunday.

I subbed a class at ESAC on Sunday, it was fun. It wasn't scheduled as a Zumba class, so the Body Jammers were in for a surprise. They were great and wore the hip scarves and seemed to enjoy the experience.

Don't forget, I post my classes at Zumba.com, so if I'm ever late on the blog, that site will be updated. I hope to add an Aqua Zumba class this summer!

Mark your calendars and register NOW for six classes of Zumba la Prisca offered freely at Coastal Community Church, 460 Arlington Dr., West Ashley as a Life Group.

Why a "Life Group?" Because it is about "doing LIFE together." If you know me, you know Zumba gave me back my joy and I believe God moved in this wonderful way because I wouldn't be moved in any other. I truly believe it's the place to be if you "don't want to talk or can't talk" but need to connect or reconnect somehow to your joy. There was something about the freedom of movement that penetrated the wall of grief I was dying behind. This is a safe place to share it with others (women only, sorry guys) and I am free in this place to also pray with and for you.

Okay, so we had over 20 people sign up to take January's Thursday night classes and then on Saturday, we had more than our capacity limit. Sadly, some really devoted dancers were turned away, so please sign up NOW for next month.

Some have asked if we can open the other area, so I'll ask. I do hope so. That would be awesome!

For those who came, we still have that magic!
Your moves are still there, but if you're like me, it takes a little bit to dust the rust off the muscles ...

Our next class is on January 7th!

The center will begin charging for our class: for members, it's either $10 or $15 per month, depending on whether you are only going on Thursdays ($10 per mo) only on Saturdays ($10 per mo) or if you may come to either or both ($15 per mo). For non-members, it's $15 - $30 per month.

I will be ordering hip scarves next week, so I'm taking names and pre-payments of $10 tonight and Saturday (or you can let me know via email). I order them in bulk and so colors cannot be guaranteed, sorry.

You can order them individually from ebay and get a specific color yourself, though. It only costs a couple dollars more, so if color is important, that's the way to go.

Looks like I'll be switching positions with Sylvie Savineau at Lowcountry Senior Center. I will be the primary instructor and Sylvie will be my alternate. It is such a blessing to work there and to be associated with such lovely women, especially Sylvie, the French Connection.

What a wonderful class we had at the Lowcountry Senior Center on Halloween!

I shared some not-so-ghoulish treats of granola bars as well as a preview of the costume made for me by my own in-house stylists/fairy goddaughters.

Of course, I was the dreaded Swine Flu.
The ears were by my six year old and the remainder of the costume by the 11 year old. How blessed am I?
